M60 and M6 delays after two crashes close lanes on motorways

Two lanes have been closed on the M60 this evening after a crash involving two vehicles in Salford. There are reports of heavy delays on the motorway after following the incident that took place between Worsley and Eccles. According to National Highways, traffic officers are currently on the scene and traffic is being managed.

According to reports, there severe delays lasting 45 minutes. National Highways: North West, said: "2 (of 4) lanes are closed on the M60 anti clockwise in Greater Manchester between J13 and J12 due to a two vehicle collision. "National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene dealing with traffic management."

Traffic monitoring tool, Inrix, says: "Long delays and two lanes closed due to accident on M60 anticlockwise between J13 A572 Worsley Brow (Worsley) and J12 M62 J12 (Eccles Interchange)."

Elsewhere, two lanes have also been closed on the M6 following a crash near the Thelwall Viaduct.

According to Inrix, the incident occurred at junction 21 on the A57 Manchester Road in Woolston.
