M4 HGV crash sees two miles of congestion near Swindon
The incident occurred before 9am, on the M4 between junction 15 and Membury services near Swindon, on the eastbound side of the carriageway. Following the incident, the motorway was closed to all traffic, with significant queues tailing back towards Swindon. The incident drew a heavy emergency service response, with an eye witness reporting seeing multiple police cars at the scene.
Despite the disruption however, police confirmed that there were no serious injuries reported. The force added that they had made no arrests following the incident. At around 10am on Saturday, November 29, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "The M4 was closed earlier this morning from J15 to Membury Services following a road traffic collision involving an HGV and a number of cars.

There have been no arrests." Throughout the course of the National Highways, the government-owned company that manages England's major roads tracked the closure. The organisation confirmed that traffic had been brought to a stop and the carriageway closed just after 8am, with delays of at least 30 minutes reported.
Within half an hour, the organisation had managed to open lane 3, and that by 10.30am, the road had fully reopened with traffic flowing smoothly.
