Live: Motorway closed as lorry fire breaks out just before rush hour

A lorry fire has broken out on the M4 this afternoon (Monday, November 10). Two lanes of the eastbound carriageway are currently closed between junction 15 and 14 as a fire has broken out. Traffic cameras show a long stretch of the motorway in darkness as it has now closed.

National Highways has said: "The #M4 is closed eastbound between J15 #Marlborough and J14 #Hungerford due to an HGV fire "More information to follow" Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the fire just after 3.30pm.

At the time, it said: "Queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to lorry fire on M4 Eastbound from J15 A419 Marlborough Road (Swindon East) to J14 A338 (Hungerford) "Lanes one and two (of three) are closed." We will keep you updated with our live blog below.
