Live: M5 and M4 crash diversion as car overturns near Bristol
The M5 and M4 have cleared and traffic is easing after a car overturned earlier this evening (November 5). Drivers had been caught in delays at the Almondsbury Interchange near Bristol. The link road between the M5 junction 16 and M4 junction 20 was closed for some time, with traffic diverted further along the M5.
National Highways said at the time: "The link road from the #M5 J16 northbound to the #M4 J20 westbound at #AlmondsburyInterchange is closed due to a collision involving an overturned car. Emergency services are on scene. "Diverted traffic should follow #M5 north to J14 and then head back south to join #M4 west."
Traffic monitor Inrix also reported: "M4 Westbound entry slip road blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at J20 M5 J15 (Almondsbury Interchange). Congestion to M5 J17 (Cribbs Causeway)." We will keep you updated with our live blog below.
