Live: Fire on M32 in Bristol causes huge queues as emergency crews attend
A car went up in flames on the M32 in Bristol this evening (Wednesday, November 26) causing huge queues on the motorway and surrounding roads. The southbound slip road of the M32 was closed near St Pauls shortly after 5pm and emergency services attended the scene. Footage seen by BristolLive showed thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky as a car was engulfed in flames on the slip road.
Firefighters attended the scene, where huge flames were filmed burning from the bonnet of a car as other motorists attempted to pass. Travel West said on X: "M32 Exit Slip Inbound at Junction 3 by Millpond Street is closed due to a Fire Emergency. Plan Ahead.
Use alternative Routes and Expect Long Delays." Roads and traffic monitoring site Inrix reported at 7.14pm that traffic was easing and the slip road had reopened. It advised: "Recovery work completed and earlier vehicle fire on M32 Southbound at J3 A4320 Easton Way (St Pauls).
Previous congestion to J1 (Hambrook)."
