Family’s tribute to ‘selfless’ M1 crash victim

The family of a woman who died after the car she was travelling in left a motorway and hit a tree in South Yorkshire has described her as a "most selfless young soul".

Aiza Nageen, 24, was a passenger in the vehicle which crashed on the M1 southbound between junctions 36 and 37 at about 23:35 GMT on 12 November, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The driver of the grey BMW Saloon, a man in his 20s, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, Ms Nageen's family said: "Our family is heartbroken by the loss of our beautiful Aiza in such tragic circumstances."

"Aiza was the kindest and most selfless young soul and life will never be the same without her," they added.

"We ask that people keep them in their prayers and allow us the privacy to grieve."

Police said Ms Nageen and the driver's families were being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who had dashcam footage of the car prior to the incident, was asked to contact South Yorkshire Police.
