The M65 is closed following a 'serious crash' in Lancashire, here's what we know so far:

  • The M65 is closed following a serious crash in Lancashire tonight (Friday, November 21). The westbound carriageway is shut between Junction 10 and Junction 9 near Burnley.
  • The closure was first reported at around 10.30pm.

    Police have said they expect it to remain the road to remain shut to traffic for several hours as a result of the incident.

  • Emergency services, including Lancashire Police, are all at the scene. National Highways is advising people to factor additional time into their journeys as a result of the closure.
  • A diversion route is in place for motorists affected by the closure. Drivers are being told to follow the solid circle symbol on local road signs
