Two crashes cause delays on M2 at Faversham in both directions

Two crashes are causing delays on a motorway this morning. There have been collisions on the M2 coastbound and London-bound near junction 6 for the A251 in Faversham.

Police were called to the first crash shortly after 7am. A spokesman for the force said: "We were called at 7.09am to a collision involving two cars on the London-bound carriageway of the M2 between junctions 6 and 5.

"Officers are currently at the scene where minor injuries have been reported." Traffic information site Inrix says there are two miles of queues, stretching back to Brenley Corner. Opposite, another accident is causing delays - also with two miles of queuing cars.

Highways teams are understood to be dealing with this second collision.
