Sutterton named one of UK’s safest truck stops

Sutterton truck stop near Boston, Lincolnshire, has been recognised as one of the UK's safest and most secure lorry parks after earning the Park Mark Freight accreditation. Only a handful of sites across the country have achieved this status, which highlights a strong commitment to driver safety, site security and high service standards. The award is part of the British Parking Association's Safer Parking Scheme -- a police-backed initiative designed to cut crime at parking facilities.

The Park Mark Freight accreditation goes further than the standard version, with tougher safety requirements and a focus on providing the key facilities HGV drivers rely on during long trips. John Manuel, designing out crime officer (DOCO), said: "Sutterton truck stop provides excellent facilities incorporating all aspects of safety, security and exemplary management practices. The value and importance of having facilities like this that enable freight and drivers a safe and secure place to stay cannot be underestimated from a policing perspective."

Colin Sproats, BPA area manager, added: "I am delighted that Sutterton truck stop has achieved the Park Mark Freight award, demonstrating hard work and commitment to providing a safe environment for its users, along with a newly refurbished restaurant and excellent facilities for customers."
