Person rescued from car after rapid response crews race to A82 crash

Specialist crews were called to reports of a collision between two vehicles on Dumbarton Road at Milton on Monday, October 13 at around 6pm. A heavy rescue unit and a rapid response team were among a flock of emergency services who descended on the dual carriageway which was forced closed in both directions. The Scottish Fire and Rescue service say they helped in the recovery of three casualties, one of which had to be extracted from their vehicle by the firefighters on scene.

The force had sent two appliances to the area along with their heavy rescue unit. Following this they were able to pass the three casualties into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service who has a special operations crew in attendance. The Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire Service both say three patients were then taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital with a further two casualties treated at the scene.

However, Police Scotland say only one person was taken to hospital and no one else was injured. Additionally, Police Scotland claim it was a three vehicle collision. The Dumbarton Reporter reached out for clarification from Police Scotland but have yet to receive a response.
