Motorcyclist dies after crash with lorry on the M6 near Willenhall

West Midlands[1] Police confirmed the news shortly after 5pm today (Monday). Emergency services had been called to the scene of the crash near Junction 10 (near Willenhall[2] and Walsall[3]) shortly before 3pm. The road was closed after a lorry collided with a motorcycle[4] on the southbound carriageway.

The rider of the motorcycle was confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry remained at the scene to help the police with their enquiries. Officers are remaining at the scene with colleagues from National Highways and the other emergency services.
A spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service had said earlier today: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving a lorry and a motorbike on the M6 Southbound between Junction 10 and 11 in Willenhall at 2.54pm and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the WMAS Critical Care Car to the scene."
Police said the road will remain closed for some time into this evening.
