Major M6 delays as crash leaves lorry driver seriously injured
A crash on the M6 resulted in a lorry driver being rushed to hospital.
The smash on the southbound carriageway of the busy motorway involved two HGVs.
Emergency services were called to the scene - between Junction 11 (Cannock[1]) and Junction 10 (Walsall[2]) - just before midnight on Sunday, October 12.

He was then taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital[4] for further treatment.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] spokeswoman said: "Upon arrival we found a man, who was the driver of the first HGV. He was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service.
"Once extricated, he was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained serious injuries.
"Ambulance staff delivered advanced trauma care to him at the scene.
"He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham[6] for further treatment.
"No further patients required treatment."
In the wake of the incident, the motorway was closed between the two junctions due to an oil spill and to allow for recovery work to take place.

Motorists faced delays of up to an hour, as they were urged to 'plan ahead' and 'avoid the area where possible'.
All lanes reopened at around 7.40am on Monday, October 13.
West Midlands Police[7] has urged anyone who saw the collision, or captured it on dashcam, to get in touch by calling 101.
People were asked to quote log 4433 of 12 October when passing on information.
