M5 motorway forced to close after three-vehicle crash
Several miles of tailbacks were reported on the northbound carriageway after the crash, involving two cars and a van, at around 10.45am on Thursday (October 30). A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:"Two ambulances attended the scene. "A woman was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers arrived to find three vehicles involved and remained at the scene to assist other emergency services and manage the traffic."
The motorway was closed completely at the scene of the crash for around 45 minutes, leading to traffic queuing from the crash site to as far back as Kempsey.
At its peak, there were over an hour of delays on the road.
