Lorry crashes into brand-new roundabout

A lorry has been recovered after crashing into a brand-new roundabout. Police were called to Downham's recently-opened roundabout on the A1122 at 7.04am this morning following reports that a HGV had mounted the structure. Officers confirmed that nobody was injured, and it is understood the driver escaped the vehicle shortly after the incident.

The vehicle was recovered hours later at 11.30am.

Residents have raised concerns over the lack of lights in the area, saying it is too dark in the early hours of the morning.

Norfolk County Council has been approached for comment.
