Live: M5 delays after rush-hour crash in Bristol

There were long delays in Bristol following a crash on the M5 motorway[1] this evening (Tuesday, October 14). Drivers faced delays[2] on the southbound carriageway of the motorway at junction 19, near Portbury. Traffic maps showed long delays on the southbound carriageway of the M5 and on the Portbury Hundred.
Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the crash at 5.45pm. It said: "M5 southbound exit slip road partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident at J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead)." It is not currently clear how many vehicles were involved.
The incident was cleared at around 6.45pm and traffic returned to normal.
