Harris MAXUS UK defies market downturn with record-breaking September performance

Harris MAXUS UK has delivered its strongest September on record, cementing its position among the UK's top 10 manufacturers for both diesel and electric commercial vehicles. In a year when the overall light commercial vehicle market has declined by 16.8%, Harris MAXUS UK has defied the downturn with registrations rising 7.5% year-to-date - an outstanding net increase of 24.3%. With the MAXUS brand continuing its exceptional momentum in the EV sector, almost one-in-five electric vans registered in the UK in September was a MAXUS resulting in an 18.4% market share.

This impressive performance has secured Harris MAXUS UK's second place in the UK EV rankings, surpassing well-established competitors including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Vauxhall. Year-on-year, Harris MAXUS UK achieved an increase of more than 700 electric vehicle registrations, further reinforcing its burgeoning reputation in the commercial vehicle sector. Diesel growth defies the market

In the diesel segment, Harris MAXUS UK has again outperformed the market with sales up an impressive 85% year-on-year in September, despite an overall market decline of 7.8% over the same period. While many manufacturers in the top 10 experienced a reduction in market share, the MAXUS marque recorded growth of almost 3.0%, highlighting the strength and appeal of its diesel range. The results underline the brand's growing influence across both electric and diesel sectors, driven by an expanding dealer network, an ever-strengthening product range and an ongoing investment into aftersales and dealer network development.

"Our growth in the UK is a testament to the hard work, determination and vision of the entire Harris MAXUS UK team," said Brian Patterson, Managing Director of the Harris Group. "However, this isn't just about sales numbers, it's about the network, the people and the MAXUS experience behind every vehicle we deliver. "We're investing heavily in expanding and strengthening our dealer network to ensure customers have easier access to MAXUS vehicles everywhere. We've also enhanced our aftersales portfolio, investing in infrastructure, training and customer support, setting new standards for reliability and response times.

Our commitment to operators doesn't stop when the keys are handed over. It continues throughout the vehicle's life. "As we move into the final quarter," he said, "our focus remains on growth further strengthening our network and supporting our customers.

I would like to thank Bill Laidlaw and the team, our dealer network and my colleagues in SAIC Maxus in Shanghai for their unwavering support and commitment."
