Driver stopped by police for going 40 mph along the M40

In the late hours of Wednesday, October 22, officers from Thames Valley Police noticed the vehicle going too slowly along the motorway through Beaconsfield. It turned out that the driver 'could not see out of their windows and windscreen due to heavy condensation. The conditions on the road were wet and slippery, as a result of Storm Benjamin hitting the UK.
The force said: "Take extra care on the roads this evening with Storm Benjamin expected overnight. "This driver on the M40 at Beaconsfield was travelling around 40mph in the middle lane and could not see out of their windows and windscreen. "They were causing a risk to themselves and other road users.
"The driver was reported for careless driving and given advice on lane discipline and how to set the controls and blowers for their onward journey."
