Diesel spill cleared by Berkshire firefighters after lorry crash

Firefighters spent just over two hours clearing up a diesel spill after a lorry crashed.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it responded to reports of the crash in Bridge Avenue in Maidenhead at about 05:45 BST on Friday.

A crew from Maidenhead, along with another from Whitley Wood Fire Station, attended and found the lorry was leaking fuel.

They used absorbent granules and an emergency mat to contain the leak before draining the lorry's fuel tank.

They left at about 08:15.
