Viva Energy, the operator of Shell Card in Australia, has entered into a strategic partnership with Road Freight NSW (RFNSW) aimed at reducing fuel and operational costs for the state's freight operators. Under the agreement, RFNSW members will receive exclusive discounts on fuel and lubricants, zero transaction fees, and additional savings at 15 Shell-branded truck stops located along major transport routes across New South Wales. The initiative is designed to ease cost pressures for transport companies, with fuel accounting for nearly a third of operating expenses in the sector.

The Shell Card program is accepted at more than 1,600 sites nationwide, including Shell, OTR, Reddy Express, and Liberty locations. RFNSW members will benefit from Shell Card Formula pricing at key truck stop sites, a 9.5 cents per litre discount on diesel at the Shell National Diesel Chain, six cents off per litre on Shell fuel purchases at all Shell Card-accepting sites (excluding LPG), and five cents per litre off AdBlue. Card fees have been waived entirely.

RFNSW CEO Simon O'Hara highlighted the impact of the partnership, calling it a vital support measure for trucking operators. "This is good news for our trucking operators already facing ever-increasing operating costs," he said. "We estimate that members could save an average of 20cpl off on diesel across the 15 key Shell sites, based on recent data."

The partnership builds on Viva Energy's broader collaborations with transport associations across Australia, reinforcing its commitment to delivering cost-effective solutions for the freight industry.
