Two East Lancs roads to close for rail inspection works

Moseley Road and Hufling Lane will be shut to traffic from 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The closure will be in effect from 11.30pm on Saturday, September 20, to 8.30am on Sunday, September 21, or until the work is completed within this timeframe. The temporary prohibition is necessary for Network Rail to carry out rail corrosion inspection works.
Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the closure. Residents will also have vehicular access whenever and wherever possible, while pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. For those affected by the closure, an alternative route has been set up.
This detour takes vehicles via Moseley Road, Woodlumpton Road, and Hufling Road.
The order for the temporary prohibition of through traffic will be made under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
