Transaid’s Christmas Appeal: Safer Journeys, Brighter Futures

International development organisation Transaid has launched its 2025 Christmas Appeal, inviting businesses and individuals to support its work improving road safety and access to essential healthcare across sub-Saharan Africa. Working in partnership with organisations in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia, Transaid delivers professional driver training programmes, develops new driving standards, and supports sustainable, community-led transport solutions to connect communities to vital healthcare. Over the last year, Transaid and partners have:
- Trained 9,000+ professional drivers and riders in Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana
- Provided 2,000+ eye tests to long-distance truck drivers in Kenya, with 700 pairs of glasses distributed
- Supported 1,000 minibus taxis in South Africa to adopt the Safe Taxi Charter
- Published new community-level guidelines for treating severe malaria in children
The generosity of the transport and logistics industry continues to play a crucial role in supporting Transaid's programmes, and Transaid has created three levels of donation packages designed to recognise and celebrate corporate support of the appeal.
Companies and individuals also have the the opportunity to order festive Transaid-themed greetings cards and donate to the appeal directly.
