Toby Carvery in Worcester reported to environmental health

A member of the public reported concerns about the Bath Road restaurant to Worcester City Council's environmental health department. The nature of these concerns has not been confirmed. Environmental health inspectors visited the site on Friday, September 12 and the restaurant was also closed on Saturday, September 13 for "essential maintenance".

Worcester News asked Toby Carvery what this maintenance was but it said it was unable to confirm further details. The restaurant has since reopened and the chain said it was working with environmental health officers to fix issues raised during the inspection. A Toby Carvery spokesperson said: "We would like to reassure our guests we take the safety, hygiene and quality standards of the food we serve extremely seriously and have been working closely with the local environmental health officer to ensure all the issues raised were fixed.

"We decided to close last Saturday so we could conduct essential maintenance work, which has now all been completed. "Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused, we are open and trading as usual." Worcester City Council has confirmed that its officers inspected the restaurant and said that it is continuing to work with the business on what it has described as "an ongoing matter".

A council spokesperson said: "Environmental Health Officers attended Toby Carvery on Friday, September 12 after we received an enquiry from a member of the public. "The premises voluntarily closed while improvement works were carried out. The premises re-opened on Sunday, September 14.

"We continue to work with the business, but it would not be appropriate to provide any further information in respect of an ongoing matter."
