Rail lines reopen between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street

The lines between two large railway stations have reopened after emergency services dealt with an incident.

It occurred on the route between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street, and was reported shortly after 19:00 BST, National Rail said.

Trains between the stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted, as services return to normal, it warned, with disruption expected until the end of Wednesday.

Services affected, external[1] include Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Transport for Wales and West Midlands Railway.
