Pedestrian taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after crash involving lorry

The incident involved a pedestrian and a Volvo HGV on the A77 between Turnberry and Girvan at around 9.35pm on Thursday, September 25. Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian, a 56-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police Scotland has confirmed that no other serious injuries were reported.

The road was closed for around three hours while investigations were carried out. Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: "Enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us. "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the pedestrian walking in the area between Girvan and Turnberry around this time."
