Man in his 60s dies after crash with HGV on busy west London road

The incident happened at the junction of South Road with Park Avenue just after 11.20am yesterday (September 2). Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. No arrests have been made. The driver of the HGV is assisting police with their enquiries which are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "At 11:34hrs on Tuesday, 2 September, police responded to a report of a road traffic collision in Southall. "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the junction of South Road with Park Avenue, where a man had allegedly been hit by a heavy goods vehicle. "The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. "No arrests have been made. The driver of the HGV is assisting police with their enquiries, which are ongoing.
