Man dies at M62 motorway service station as its locked down to traffic

A man has tragically died at an M62 service station, forcing the venue to be locked down while emergency services attended the scene. Emergency crews raced to Birch services, located on the M62[1] eastbound near Heywood, Greater Manchester, at 10.05am this morning (September 21). Greater Manchester Police[2] reported a 50-year-old man had experienced a suspected cardiac arrest in his vehicle. He died at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported. Access to the Moto service station[3] from the M62 eastbound was temporarily blocked following the arrival of emergency services. The slip road was reopened around midday today (Sunday). The identity of the man has not been made public by the authorities.
