Man dies after serious crash that closed M60 as police seek witnesses

Emergency services rushed to the M60 this morning, Thursday, following reports of a serious road traffic collision. The incident occurred on the clockwise carriageway between junction eight for Carrington and junction nine for Trafford Park at around 5.35am. A single vehicle, described as a gold Renault car, is believed to have entered the motorway at junction eight and collided with the central reservation.
The driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man, has since sadly died from his injuries, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed. The stretch of motorway between junctions eight and nine has been shut for most of today, reopening at around 3.30pm. This incident has now been resolved, and the #M60[1] clockwise is in the process of being re-opened between J6 (#Sale[2]) and J9 (#TraffordPark[3]).
