M5 crash sparks hours of slow traffic near Almondsbury Interchange

There were long delays on the M5 motorway[1] in Bristol following a crash this afternoon, Tuesday, September 16. One lane of the northbound carriageway was closed[2] between junctions 15 and 14 from before 4pm to 9pm. Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the crash at 3.47pm.

It said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M5 northbound from J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield)."
