M5 closed off in the night between Taunton and Bridgwater
Yesterday (September 18), vehicles were being redirected along the motorway between Taunton (J25) and Bridgwater (J24). Resurfacing works were taking place. This was part of a minor surface dressing scheme, with no plans for near-future works on this stretch of road, according to National Highways.
The M5 was closed off from 9pm until 6am both ways, with drivers met with signed diversions set up on the motorway and via the A38. This isn't the only work that National Highways is doing in the area. The M5 will be closed between junctions 28 and 29 from September 15 until December 19.

"Elsewhere, we do have some works taking place around junction 21, but not full closures, and the only other full overnight closures are for resurfacing on the southbound section between junctions 28 and 29.
