Lorry and police car involved in crash on busy main road

A LORRY and a police car were involved in a traffic collision near Ferndown on Monday afternoon.

The HGV collided with a police vehicle on the A348 at the Palmersford Roundabout at around 3.30pm on Monday, September 1, forcing the road to be partially closed as heavy traffic built up in each direction.

After police officers attended to the collision the road was eventually cleared while a recovery vehicle was deployed to retrieve the police car. Advertisement Advertisement

A spokeperson for Dorser Police said: "We received a report at 3.28pm on Monday 1 September 2025 of a collision involving a lorry and a marked police car in Ringwood Road in Ferndown.

"The road was temporarily blocked but is now clear.

"No injuries reported.

"Recovery has been arranged for the police vehicle."
