Delays on M6 after lorry crash

National Highways West Midlands warned of 60-minute delays after three lanes of the northbound M6 between Junction 7, for Great Barr,[1] and Junction 8, for the M5, were closed. The closure was the result of a crash between the two junctions involving a lorry at 12.35pm today (Septemnber 8), with approximately four miles of congestion backing up to near Spaghetti Junction.

"Three of four lanes remain closed. Approximately four miles of congestion almost back to the Junction 6 for Spaghetti Junction[2]. "Please consider using the M42, M5 if travelling from further afield."

A further update shortly after 2.30pm said the vehicles involved in the crash had been recovered with residual delays of "up to 45 minutes".
