Delays after lane closed on A14 as lorry crash damages barrier

Drivers are facing severe delays on the A14 following a crash involving a lorry and a car.

Suffolk police were called at 9.40am to the crash near junction 38 of the A14 westbound at Newmarket.

The lorry caused the car to spin during the crash, with the central reservation barriers damaged.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said due to the damage, National Highways have been notified, with at least one lane currently closed. Advertisement Advertisement

Officers are still on the scene, with recovery needed for the car.

There were no reported injuries from the crash.

Traffic sensors are showing three miles of traffic, causing delays of more than 30 minutes.

Because of the traffic on the A14, traffic is building through Newmarket as people attempt to avoid the crash.
