Date set for inquest of biker killed in crash with lorry

Alan Baker, of Pennyroyal in Catton, died on August 25 last year - almost three weeks after a crash in Rackheath near Norwich. The incident on Wednesday, August 7 involved Mr Baker's Triumph motorcycle and a lorry and saw the rider suffer traumatic chest, pelvis and leg injuries. It happened at around 12.40pm on Muck Lane.
He was rushed to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, but died 18 days later. Now, an inquest into his death has been scheduled to take place in March next year. Previously, Norfolk Coroner's Court had heard how Mr Baker, who was 67, was a retired gearbox fitter.
Briefing mentioning his case in court, area coroner Yvonne Blake confirmed that the full hearing had now been scheduled for 10am on Thursday, March 19.
