Crash on M5 slip road causes miles of queues
M5 drivers were facing long delays this morning (Wednesday, September 10) near Bridgwater as a crash on the motorway exit slip road caused long queues. Traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported at 7.50am: "M5 northbound exit slip road partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident at J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South)." Maps showed traffic queueing for around two miles, all the way from the motorway into Bridgwater itself.
The slip road had cleared and traffic returned to normal by 9.10am.
AA Traffic News reported that traffic was crawling along at 10mph on Broadway southbound between A38 Monmouth Street and A38 Taunton Road.
