CEVA Logistics Opens New International Road Transport Hub in China

CEVA Logistics International Road Transport Hub China

CEVA Logistics[1] has inaugurated a new International Road Transport (TIR) center in Alashankou, China. The 4,300-square-meter facility, which includes an additional 1,000 square meters for dangerous goods, is the company's first TIR hub to consolidate inbound and outbound road freight. The center is located within the Cross-Border eCommerce Industrial Park of Alashankou's Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which borders Kazakhstan.

Officials from the Alashankou municipality attended the inauguration.

Accelerating Eurasian Supply Chains

The new hub will be used for less-than-truckload (LTL) consolidation, allowing multiple shippers to share space and reduce costs. The company estimates that the TIR model, combined with the new center, will shorten transit times by nearly 30% and cut costs by an average of 15% compared to conventional road transport. According to Kelvin Tang, Vice President of Ground & Rail, Greater China and Global Cross-Border & Multimodal Leader at CEVA Logistics, the Alashankou center transforms the city from a simple checkpoint into a launchpad for Eurasian supply chains.

The center is expected to anchor a new TIR network connecting approximately 30 cities across 15 countries in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe.
