M25 lorry crash causes seven miles of traffic

There were delays of around an hour on the M25[1] clockwise in Surrey following a crash[2] on Tuesday morning (August 5). Two lanes (of three) were closed on the motorway within J11 ( Chertsey[3] ) due to a collision involving a lorry and a car. The lanes remained closed for more than an hour, before one lane re-opened.

It then took another hour for the last lane to reopen. At its peak there were delays of around 75 minutes and eight miles of congestion. This meant drivers were advised to allow extra time for their trips.
