Rail passengers suffer delays after railway bridge struck by HGV

A response team from Network Rail attended the incident on Spott Road, Dunbar, and worked with emergency services to remove the vehicle. Passengers were warned of the disruption shortly after 9am and all lines were closed as a result. A bridge examiner also attended to inspect the structure.

Services from Scotrail, CrossCountry, LNER, Lumo and TransPennine were affected by the closure. The road was also temporarily closed to traffic, with Lothian Buses services 120 and X7 diverted. The HGV was removed at about 9.50am and, following the inspection, the train line reopened.
