Man who died after M40 closed in Bucks named

The motorway was closed between junction six for Chinnor and junction five for Stokenchurch for a number of hours on July 27 due to the police-led incident. Thames Valley Police confirmed the following day that a man died at the roadside, adding that there were no suspicious circumstances. The man has now been named as Robin Seamus White of Crays Pond Close, Crays Pond, Reading, at an inquest opening held at Oxford Coroner's Court by HM area coroner Nicholas Graham on July 30.

The court heard that the 56-year-old, who was a vehicle leasing expert, died at an M40 overbridge between junction six and junction five. Companies House records show that he was the director of Cariad Commercial. At 3.18pm a paramedic verified his death after he was found unresponsive by the side of the M40, the court heard.

Following a post mortem examination his cause of death has been given as 'multiple injuries'. The full inquest is set to take place at the same court on December 1 at 10am. Following the incident a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "His family are being supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.

"The death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
