M5 delays after rush hour lorry crash

Drivers are stuck in huge rush-hour delays after a multi-vehicle crash involving a lorry on the M5 southbound. Two lanes are currently closed on the major motorway between J4A, for the M42, and J5 for Droitwich. Congestion backs up to J4, for Bromsgrove and Stourbridge, on the M5.

"All emergency services have been in attendance and recovery has been arranged.
There's a 70-minute delay and seven miles of congestion." The latest update on traffic tracker Inrix reads: "M5 Worcestershire southbound. "Long delays and two lanes closed due to a multi-vehicle collision on M5 Southbound from M42, J4A, to J5 A38 (Droitwich/Wychbold).
"Congestion to J4 (Bromsgrove/Stourbridge) on the M5 and back two miles prior to M42 J1 (Bromsgrove). "Lanes one and two (of four) are closed." West Midlands Roads wrote on social media platform X: "Lane closed [on] M5 southbound after J4A M42.
Collision. "Congestion and delays from Frankley Services and M42, J2. Allow extra time."
