M25 abnormal load to be escorted by police this weekend
National Highways has warned road users of the National Grid's supergrid transformer that will be on the move along the motorway on August 10. The abnormal load will be transported from Willington substation in Derbyshire to Redbridge substation in Woodford Green. Just part of the load's route to the substation in Woodford Green (Image: Google Maps) It will be moved by specialist haulers via the A50, M1, M25 and M11 with the help of police.
According to National Highways, it is expected to reach the Redbridge substation by around midnight on August 11.
Road users are advised to take extra care when overtaking the load in lane three.
There are no road closures planned.
