Firefighters cut drive free from car after crash with lorry
This was the dramatic scene as firefighters cut a driver free from a car that had crashed with a lorry. The collision occurred on the A2 Londonbound near Lydden, Dover, on Sunday.
Emergency services were called out from just before 5pm. A fire service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a person trapped, following a crash between a car and a lorry.
"Two fire engines attended and crews extricated one casualty and passed them into the care of paramedics." The crews used hydraulic cutting gear to free the victim and were at the scene for almost exactly an hour. An ambulance service spokesperson said: "Crews assessed and treated the driver of the car at the scene before taking them to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further medical treatment."
