Audi driver caught ‘over 100mph’ along the M4 hard shoulder

On August 22, numerous witnesses called the authorities after they saw a man behind the wheel of an Audi driving at excessive speeds between Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Road Policing Units from Three Mile Cross, along with officers from Thames Valley Police, were made aware of the situation. After hearing that the person in question was near Maidenhead, they apprehended the suspect.
The force said: "Many thanks to the numerous members of the public who called us about some terrible driving on the M4 yesterday. "We had reports that an Audi had been seen being driven at over 100mph on the hard shoulder. "Road Police Units from Three Mile Cross located the vehicle as it approached Maidenhead.
"With assistance from Taplow RPU they escorted it off the motorway where it was stopped.
"The driver was found to have a fraudulent insurance policy and failed a roadside drug wipe."
Following this, the vehicle in question has been seized.
