Yorkshire logistics firm invites customers behind the wheel for exclusive track day

Suttle Transport, leading logistics provider based in Yorkshire and member of the Palletways UK network, is inviting customers to step into the cab and get behind the wheel of a full-sized artic truck as part of an exclusive track day this summer. The event, which takes place on Friday 18 July at the company's site at Tockwith Airfield, offers a rare opportunity to experience what it's like to be a professional driver and gain insight into what happens to goods once they leave the depot. Guests will be guided around a private race track by qualified instructors from Suttle's sister company, Wetherby Training, to ensure a safe and memorable driving experience.
Paul Frost, Business Development Manager at Suttle Transport, said: "This event is about opening the doors to what we do and letting our customers experience the scale and complexity of transport first-hand. It's also a way to say thank you and connect in a way that's more personal than a meeting room or video call." In addition to the driving experience, attendees will be able to explore one of Suttle's double-decker trailers used for high-volume freight.
The day will also shine a spotlight on local sport, with several athletes and teams sponsored by Suttle - which also has a general haulage arm - joining the event. In attendance will be members of motorsport team DD-Racing, who are currently defending their ACU championship title, along with professional boxer George Davey and representatives from Harehills WMC football team - which is coached by Suttle warehouse supervisor Gareth Nicholson. Paul added: "We're proud to be backing people in our community who are doing great things.
Whether it's in the ring, on the pitch or on the track, their passion and drive inspire a real sense of local pride - and we're glad to be part of their stories." Warrick Trimble, Network Director at Palletways UK, said: "It's great to see one of our members going the extra mile to engage customers and highlight the vital work done behind the scenes. "Suttle's investment in its services and community partnerships makes this a standout event - and a great example of how logistics businesses can connect in meaningful ways."
More than 100 attendees are expected to take part in the track day, which marks the first time Suttle Transport has hosted an event of this kind. Suttle Transport is one of over 120 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.
The Palletways Group, renowned for its industry-leading IT developments and operational systems, comprises 450+ depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 24 European countries, including the UK.
