Two taken to hospital after crash involving lorries

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash at around 11.34am on Monday, July 7 at Beanacre, north of Melksham. A spokesperson for the ambulance service has said two land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene. They confirmed two patients were taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath via land ambulances.

An eyewitness at the scene claimed two lorries and one car were involved in the incident. This has yet to be confirmed by Wiltshire Police and the force has been contacted for comment. A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 11:34hrs on Monday 07 July to a road traffic collision near Melksham. "We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a rapid response vehicle to the scene. "We conveyed two patients by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital Bath."

Long queues remain on either side of the closure, and motorists should avoid the area if possible.

AA Traffic News reports:  "A350 Beanacre Road both ways closed, slow traffic due to accident between Melksham Road (Lacock) and Elliott Place (Melksham)."
