Significant delays on M56 due to crashes on both sides of carriageway

This is due to crashes on both sides of the motorway, according to reports. The M56 heading westbound is currently partially blocked, with queueing traffic reported due to an accident before junction 12 for the A557 for Runcorn. Congestion is said to stretch back to junction 10 for Stretton.
On the other side of the carriageway, the M56 eastbound is also partially blocked. Queueing traffic is said to be building due to an accident that also occurred before junction 12 for Runcorn. For this incident, congestion is back to junction 15 for Ellesmere Port.
A traffic feed states: "Even though other sources are reporting the road to be blocked, cameras confirm that traffic is currently moving past the scene using the hard shoulder."
