Part of M62 still shut after lorry fire and diesel spillage

Two lanes are shut on the motorway eastbound from junction 22, for Rishworth Moor, to junction 24, for Huddersfield. A large diesel spillage was reported on the road surface following the blaze. Emergency services remain at the scene.

A National Highways spokesperson said shortly before 8.30pm: "Two lanes (of three) remain closed. "The lorry fire has resulted in a large spillage across the road. "Our crews are working hard to clean the road surface but it may need resurfacing.

"Thanks for your patience if you've been held up."
