Oasis Heaton Park LIVE as show finishes and fans face travel disruption due to M60 closure

It has been a historical run of shows marking Oasis' incredible return to home soil. Tonight marked the last of the Gallagher brothers' incredible five-show run in Manchester as part of the band's Live '25 tour this year. Concluding their epic run of five dates at Heaton Park[1], which was described as 'a homecoming of epic proportions'[2], the band performed to close to 80,000 devoted fans on their home turf for one last time.
You could barely turn a corner in Manchester this week without a sign of the extraordinary rock 'n' roll takeover that Oasis have staged in the city. As Dianne Bourne wrote this evening: "Liam and Noel couldn't fail to be moved by the reaction on home turf."[3] An emotional Noel summed it all up in the encore tonight, telling crowds: "For the last ten days the eyes of the world have been on this city of Manchester and I just want to say to all Mancunians you've done yourself f***ing proud."
Known for anthems like Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger, the band have sold millions of records and have remained a lynchpin of the Manchester culture scene since forming in 1991. This Live '25 tour, which was announced last summer and sold out within minutes, has marked the first time that Noel[4] and Liam Gallagher[5] have performed together on stage since the band's split back in 2009. As fans leave the stadium following the historical run, they have been warned of significant and 'severe' delays, particularly on surrounding roads, as the M60 remains closed following a fatal collision earlier this evening.[7]
It is also the second performance from Billie Eilish at Co-op Live this evening[8], which means that there is expected to be busier public transport services across the whole network.
We'll be sharing all the updates as Oasis gear up for their last show at Heaton Park tonight with our live blog below.
