Motorcyclist in hospital after M60 Bredbury motorway crash

The incident took place this afternoon, July 12, on the M60 anticlockwise between J25 Bredbury and J24 Denton. The Bolton News understands that the motorbike rider who was involved in the crash has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, and that police are investigating. Reportedly there were no other vehicles involved.
The M60 was reported as being closed between J25 and J24 anticlockwise at 2.30pm today, with traffic on the opposite carriageway also stopped to allow an air ambulance to land on the road.
The clockwise side was reopened, but the anticlockwise carriageway has remained closed into the evening. To see updates on this incident, see our live blog here: LIVE: Motorway closed and air ambulance scrambled after 'serious' crash[3]
The closure was extended back to J27 for Stockport later on in the evening, and bus routes which typically go near J25 were rerouted.
Fans going to the Oasis gig at Heaton Park were also advised to follow the other side of the M60 to get up there.
