Motorcyclist hospitalised after crash with lorry on A142 at Cambs border

The A142 was blocked in both directions for a short period after a crash that left a motorcyclist in hospital on Thursday afternoon (July 17). It happened between A14 J37 (Newmarket/Exning, Newmarket) and Landwade Road. Traffic was left queueing in the area.

Suffolk Police, the East of England Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were called to the scene. A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire County Council said the A142 Fordham Road, Fordham was blocked "due to reports of a road traffic collision". The motorcyclist has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for treatment after sustaining a serious injury.
