Man due in court over HGV crash that closed A19 for 11 hours
A man is due in court following an A19 crash involving two HGV's. Emergency services were called to the scene on the northbound carriageway on December 17. The road from near Crathorne between the A67 and A174 near Stockton[1] was shut for around 11 hours.
Nathan Armitage has been charged with driving without due care and attention following the collision during the early hours of the morning. The 40-year-old, from Wakefield, is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday. At the time of the crash, one of the vehicles spilled its load, resulting in "a significant amount of debris across the road[2]", which resulted in a huge clear-up operation.
Pictures from the scene show one of the HGVs has been severely damaged in the collision however, it's understood that no-one was seriously injured in the smash.
